More Wine Tasting

Diane and I had the pleasure to taste with Vinos Unico this evening and walked away with a new understanding and appreciation for Portuguese wines. Vinos Unicos is a small, boutique operation based in San Francisco who imports wine from Portugal, Spain, and Argentina. They're such a small operation that the international headquarters is located in the garage of Luis Moya, a Cuban immigrant turned American success story. Luis and his sales rep Tommy tasted us through 20 or so stellar wines from their three main importing regions. Diane and I have been searching for distributors like Luis who collect labels from wineries that produce small quantities of amazing juice at incredible price points. We even got to try a micro-brew from Barcelona that they are considering importing. A big treat. No doubt that a few of his wines will show up on Fat Angel's wine list....maybe more!

1) Things always get a little crazy at a wine tasting. 2) A Vihno Verde that belied the belief that all VV's are thin, insipid, swill. We were made into believers today.

1) Di and I got our name as close to lights as they'll ever be. 2) Di mid-sip with one of the lovely whites we tasted. Delicious!
