FA's on the Radar

We're officially out! A little intimidating but very exciting. Fat Angel was blasted out to all the food savvy folks of San Francisco on Eater, a website that real-times all the ins, outs, and what-have-you's for the San Francisco food scene. Take a look. Thus begins the struggle of every business, the wonderful world of peoples opinions. Not to worry, we've committed ourselves to being true and honest to our vision: To give a humble and real offering to our community and city. We're not planning on being the next James Beard nominated restaurant or Bobby's next Throwdown, we want to serve warm and comforting food, unique and satisfying beverage, and do it in an inviting and cozy atmosphere. Simple.

We had a killer day today. Cyrick spent the day overseeing the construction crew while I zipped around town to a few wine tastings, tweaked a few menu items, and fielded a number of calls ranging from bar top fabrication to advertising. Just making it up as we go along.

1) The big soffit wall that separates the bar area and dining room. 2) Big Perm, a.k.a. Eddy the Guat

1) My buddy Justin Kramm who made a special trip from Amsterdam to check on the drawings and see FA's progress.

1) Looking in from the front door back towards the kitchen. 2) Rough electrical looking smoother every day.

1) Impromptu 7:30 pm wine tasting with Carl Sutton from Sutton Cellars at the space This guy lives in the city and makes his own juice in Novato. Freaking tasty stuff. Carl is also making his own vermouth, soon to be added to the next FA cocktail. I approached Carl to help fill a space in a our draft wine program. 2) Carl, muggin the camera with his Rollie Fingers handle bar mustache. Solid.

1) Really impressed with his Syrah and Rose. Both great examples of what a little more time and attention (less manipulation) can do to Cali grapes.
